My hand and footprint pictures started life as a separate company called Gecko Art (because I like geckos!) but I have decided to consolidate all my pictures into one company, since it is me, Gillian Jones, who creates them all.
So why buy one of my hand and footprint pictures when you could just do it at home with an ink pad or some paint? Well, here is why.....
Ease of Use
When you order one of our products I send you a pack which includes a kit which you will use to take imprints of your child's hand or foot. This kit consists of some wipes and sheets of coated paper. You will rub the wipe on your child's hand and when their hand makes contact with the paper, their imprint will appear.
Quality
The detail which this method provides is absolutely amazing. You will see all the lines and creases of your child's hand or foot on the paper, and we will preserve all that detail in our colourful pictures. This method of capturing imprints is in fact approved by the FBI for taking fingerprints; so the detail has to be perfect!
Safety
The wipes and paper are used every day in the US in hundreds of hospitals to take the footprints of newborn babies. The wipes are easy, clean and non-toxic. The wipes and paper are manufactured by Nekoosa Coated Products in Wisconsin, USA, and you can see more details on their website http://www.inklessfingerprintingsolutions.com/index.html
Paper
Having created a wonderful picture, it needs to be printed on superb paper to ensure it looks its best. I print the pictures, using a professional Canon printer, onto 310gsm fine art paper manufactured by a German company called Hahnemühle. This paper is slightly textured which looks fantastic, but it is also classified as archival paper. This means that, unlike the usual photopapers you may use at home, fading and degrading will be limited.
For years to come, you really will be able to see everything that makes your child's hand or foot unique.
